About the Role
The Special Education Paraprofessional will work closely with special needs students on a regular basis to provide them with the physical help and emotional support they need to gain the full benefits from their educational placement under the direction of the supervising teacher(s).
Responsibilities
- Provides assistance to a classroom teacher
- Performs a variety of tasks relating to the physical and instructional needs of students in a classroom setting
- Assists in the implementation of instructional programs, including self-help and behavior management as well as instruction
- Performs related duties as required or assigned, such as monitoring student behavior during non-classroom time and providing information to appropriate school personnel
- Implements behavioral plans designed by the IEP team for students with behavior disorders or other special conditions to reinforce learning concepts under the supervision of an assigned teacher and BCBA

Pay
Current hourly rate: $25.50
Working Conditions
This position requires the ability to regularly stand, walk, talk, hear, see, read, speak, reach, lift and carry objects (up to 30 lbs.), and sit throughout the workday, as needed to perform all teaching tasks and other job-related responsibilities.
Employment offers are contingent on a valid work authorization, verification per SB 848, First Aid/CPR/AED Certification, TB clearance completed within the last 60 days, and a cleared criminal background check.
