Special Education Paraprofessional - 2026/2027 School Year

About the role
This Special Education Paraprofessional position supports students in grades K-12 within center-based classrooms as well as general education settings. Sites, hours, and specific roles will be determined based on district needs.
Responsibilities
- Implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) under the supervision of licensed Special Education staff
- Support students with disabilities in individual, small group, and large group environments
- Work effectively with an interdisciplinary team while demonstrating independent initiative
- Collaborate with school staff to provide student support in both general and special education settings
- Participate in and contribute to team meetings focused on student success and next actions
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED certificate
- One of the following:
- 90 quarter or 60 semester college credits and/or AA degree, OR
- Passing score on the ParaPro Assessment (available through Human Resources after job offer)
- Ability to pass pre-work physical and complete PCA training
- Proficiency with computers and technology equipment
- Demonstrated ability to initiate and follow through on tasks with minimal supervision
- Effective oral and written communication skills for working with students, families, community representatives, and school personnel
Working Conditions
- Physical demands include:
- Ability to lift 40 pounds
- Frequent bending and/or twisting
- Potential need to physically restrain students

Pay
$20.75-$24.20 per hour, with an additional $0.75/hour differential for employees holding a bachelor's degree.
