Special Education Paraeducator - Life Skills Classroom - WAMS (Full Time w/ Benefits)

About the role

The Waynesboro Area School District is seeking a reliable and devoted paraeducator/caregiver with experience working with special needs individuals in a school setting or care facility. Special education paraeducators provide academic support and guidance, emotional support, behavior monitoring, and may assist students with their personal care needs. All special education paraeducators work closely with teachers and other professional staff to support students' needs and goals for success in school. Transportation duties are required.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic support and guidance to students
• Offer emotional support to students with special needs
• Monitor and manage student behavior
• Assist students with personal care needs as required
• Collaborate with teachers and professional staff to support student goals
• Perform transportation duties

Requirements

• Experience working with special needs individuals in a school setting or care facility
• Strong desire to work with students with special needs
• Background clearances are required for all positions
• AED training, CPR, and First Aid preferred

Benefits

• After 60 days of satisfactory performance, newly hired support staff will be reimbursed $200.00 to cover the cost of background checks, physical, and TB test

Pay

$18.29 per hour

• 184 days per year
• 7:00 AM - 2:30 PM
