About the role
Special Education Paraeducator position at Waseca Central in Waseca, MN. This is a full-time role, 6 hours a day for 177 contract days. You will assist in providing a well-organized, smoothly functioning program in a special education setting under the supervision of a supervising teacher. Responsibilities include support work assisting students in meeting educational, communication, emotional, physical, and behavioral goals. Work individually or in small groups.
Responsibilities
- Provide support by working directly with students to increase their academic, social/behavioral, communication, and study skills under the direction of the teacher(s).
Requirements
- Two years of study at an institution of higher education (60 college credits) OR an Associate degree (or higher) OR the successful completion of the Paraeducator training and assessments (District funded).
- The ability to obtain PCA/CFSS certificate.
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (CPI) certification required (training offered by the school district).
- Must pass a background check.
- Capable of discretion and confidentiality.
Experience working with students with significant disabilities is preferred, but not required.
Pay
The pay range for this position is $21.57–$25.78 per hour based on experience.
