About the role

John Brown Elementary School seeks applications for a Special Education Paraprofessional and Crossing Guard for the 2026–2027 school year.

Responsibilities

• Support students with special needs in the classroom and related activities
• Assist in maintaining a safe and orderly learning environment
• Perform crossing guard duties during designated times

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Associate degree (AA/AS) preferred
• Two years of college coursework preferred
• PASSING SCORE ON THE IDAHO PARAPROFESSIONAL ASSESSMENT OR PRAXIS TEST
• Experience working with school-age children

Qualifications

• Ability to work effectively under the direction of the principal and/or classroom teacher

Skills

• Strong communication skills
• Ability to assist students with special needs
• Knowledge of safety protocols

Benefits

• Full benefits package, including PERSI retirement, medical, dental, and sick leave

Pay

• $16.62–$18.82 per hour, DOE

Schedule

• 6.5 hours per day as a Special Education Paraprofessional
• 0.5 hour per day as a crossing guard
• 5 days per week, during the school year
