About the role
David Brearley Middle School is seeking full-time, 10-month positions for Special Education Math Teachers in Grades 6-8. Starting salaries range from Step 1BA at $73,699 to Step 1MA at $81,804.
Qualifications
- Valid NJDOE Teacher of Students with Disabilities (TOSD) certification or eligibility.
- Valid NJDOE Mathematics certification for Grades 6-8.
- Demonstrated knowledge of special education practices, including development and implementation of IEPs, accommodations, and modifications.
- Demonstrated knowledge of effective mathematics instructional strategies aligned with middle school curriculum and student needs.
- Ability to differentiate instruction and support diverse learners within an inclusive classroom setting.
- Ability to maintain a positive and structured learning environment.
- Effective problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.
Required
- Criminal history check.
- Proof of U.S. citizenship or resident alien status.
- Meet NJ Residency requirements as per the New Jersey First Act, N.J.S.A. 52:14-7 (L.2011, Chapter 70).

DBMS Principal, Director of Student Personnel Services
Terms of Employment
- Terms of tenure track positions per collective bargaining agreement.
- Starting salaries: Step 1BA - $73,699 and Step 1MA - $81,804.
- Eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid sick and personal leave accruals (pursuant to the collective bargaining agreement), and enrollment in the New Jersey Teachers' Pension and Annuity Fund (TPAF) or the Public Employees' Retirement System.
- Eligible for additional compensation in the form of stipends or tuition reimbursement based on district policy.
