About the role
Boothby Therapy Services is seeking an experienced Special Education professional to join our team as a Service Delivery Manager (SDM). This is a unique leadership opportunity for someone who combines deep special education expertise with a passion for coaching, mentoring, and developing others.
Responsibilities
- Directly manage and support a caseload of Special Education Teachers.
- Conduct structured coaching meetings, professional development conversations, and performance reviews.
- Provide hands-on support through school visits and collaborative problem-solving when needed.
- Identify provider strengths, development opportunities, and performance concerns, then implement targeted support plans.
- Monitor service quality, provider satisfaction, and key performance metrics.
- Serve as the internal special education expert for Service Delivery Managers across disciplines.
- Consult on IEP implementation, service delivery models, coaching strategies, and school partner concerns.
- Develop tools, resources, and best practices that strengthen BTS's Special Education line of business.
- Contribute strategic insight regarding quality standards, placements, and service expansion.
- Build trusted relationships with school partners and district leaders.
- Present data and recommendations professionally and confidently.
- Proactively identify risks to partner satisfaction and provider success.
- Carefully coordinate special requests, Extended School Year (ESY) services, and unique placement needs.
- Monitor provider utilization and service delivery targets.
- Maintain accurate caseload documentation and reporting.
- Produce utilization reviews and operational reports.
- Carefully coordinate provider coverage and continuity planning.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Special Education.
- Minimum of 5 years of school-based special education experience.
- Deep understanding of IEPs, eligibility processes, service delivery models, and special education law.
- Demonstrated experience coaching, mentoring, supervising, or developing adults.
- Ability to explain complex special education concepts to professionals from different backgrounds.
- Strong organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Comfortable supporting multidisciplinary teams, including SLPs, OTs, PTs, and other related service providers.
- Experience working independently and managing competing priorities.
- Willingness to travel up to approximately two hours for school visits and provider support as needed.
- Available year-round, including summer months.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience as a Special Education Coordinator, Department Head, Director of Special Education, or similar leadership role.
- Familiarity with special education regulations in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, and/or Vermont.
- Experience with educational staffing, therapy services, or contract-based school support models.
- Additional certifications such as BCBA, CAGS, ATP, or related credentials.
- Experience with CRM, workforce management, or case management platforms.

Competitive salary: $87,000-$93,000
Annual performance bonus: up to $5,000
