Major Responsibilities And Duties
- Maintain confidentiality
- Keep accurate records of students with disabilities and furnish to appropriate personnel in a timely manner
- Absorb and adapt to each student’s special medical, physical, communicative, emotional, and safety needs through in-service and/or teacher direction
- Assist in supervising students throughout the school day, both inside and outside the classroom, including lunchroom, bus duty, playground, and community
- Absorb and adapt to each student’s special medical, physical, communicative, emotional, and safety needs through in-service and/or teacher direction
- Assist special needs students with individual tasks as may be required including, but not limited to, transferring to and from wheelchairs, lifting, positioning, feeding, bathroom needs, personal hygiene
- Absorb and adapt to each student’s special medical, physical, communicative, emotional, and safety needs through in-service and/or teacher direction

- Assure the teacher is informed of any special needs or problems of individual students
- Uphold and enforce school rules, administrative regulations, and legal/local board policies
- Participate in staff development training programs, faculty meetings, and special events as assigned

Safety
- Contribute to the prevention of accidents and injuries by observing safety rules and District policy, practicing the principles and skills taught in safety training, wearing personal protective equipment as required, reporting injuries and incidences immediately to supervisor, and being proactive in the ongoing efforts to improve and maintain workplace safety
