Responsibilities
Create and lead lessons that support students' unique learning needs.
- Write and follow Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Use different teaching strategies
- Adjust lesson plans based on student progress
- Build a positive, structured classroom environment
- Work closely with paraprofessionals, families, and other team members
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions
- Stay organized, track student progress, and ensure compliance with school policies
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Valid State of Florida teaching certificate
- Status of Eligibility, Temporary Teacher Certification, or Professional Licensure
- Experience planning IEPs and differentiated instruction
- Strong communication skills
- Knowledge of child development and instructional best practices
- Commitment to professional development and student success
- Ability to manage tasks, prioritize goals, and meet deadlines
- Comfortable using technology and alternative communication tools
- Reading, ESOL, and ESE endorsements are preferred
- ESE certification is also a plus
