Special Education Instructor

Language & Literacy Academy for Learning, Inc. in Winter Haven, FL is seeking a full-time Special Education Instructor to support students' unique learning needs in a nationally accredited public charter school serving Pre-K through 12th grade.

Salary: $47,500/year

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM

Responsibilities

• Create and lead lessons tailored to students' unique learning needs
• Write and follow Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Use differentiated teaching strategies and adjust plans based on student progress
• Build a positive, structured classroom environment
• Collaborate with paraprofessionals, families, and other team members to support student progress
• Participate in staff meetings, training, and curriculum development
• Maintain organization, track student progress, and ensure alignment with school policies
• Occasionally lift or move items under 20 pounds

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
• Valid State of Florida teaching certificate, Status of Eligibility, Temporary Teacher Certification, or Professional Licensure
• Experience planning IEPs and differentiated instruction
• Strong communication skills
• Knowledge of child development and instructional best practices
• Commitment to professional development and student success
• Ability to manage tasks, prioritize goals, and meet deadlines
• Comfortable using technology and alternative communication tools
• Must pass a background check and drug screening test

Qualifications (Preferred)

• Reading, ESOL, and ESE endorsements
• ESE certification
