About the role
Eagle Point School District 9 is seeking a compassionate, adaptable, and motivated Special Education Instructional Assistant to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will work closely with special education teachers, site administrators, and support staff to provide vital services and instruction to students with special needs. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include supporting students' academic, social, emotional, and behavioral development, while ensuring they have the tools and care necessary to succeed. As a Special Education Instructional Assistant, you will assist in implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), provide one-on-one or small group support, and assist students in their personal and physical care. You'll play an integral role in creating a positive, inclusive learning environment and ensuring compliance with special education regulations.

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One of the following educational qualifications: postsecondary coursework, an associate's degree, or passing district assessments
- Trained or willing to be trained in CPR, first aid, CPI restraint procedures, and special education best practices
- Prior experience supporting students with special needs is preferred

Pay
$18.87-$26.85 per hour depending upon verified previous full-time experience in a similar position
