Special Education Instructional Assistant

Mechanicsburg Area School District is seeking a Special Education Instructional Assistant in the TES classroom at the Middle School, effective immediately. This is a full-time, school-year position.

About the Role

Provides instructional assistance to teachers and/or students in the assigned setting. Requires working with children and performing various clerical duties.

Requirements

• High School graduate with general typing ability and computer skills.
• Experience working with children in an instructional setting preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills required.
• Chapter 14 requires that all special education instructional assistants and personal care assistants must meet one of the following qualifications:
  • Have completed at least two years of postsecondary study,
  • Possess an associate degree or higher, or
  • Take a state or local assessment provided.
• Valid Criminal History Record Clearance form, Child Abuse History Clearance form, FBI Clearance, Act 168 form(s), and I-9 (Employment Eligibility Verification) form required for employment.

Schedule

Full-time, during the school year.
