Duties and Responsibilities

  • Initiates procurement processes and procedures for special education contracts in accordance with state and federal regulations.
  • Develops requests for sealed proposals, invitations to bid, or other approved procurement methods.
  • Conducts contract and invoice reviews.
  • Initiates requests for proposals for grants.
  • Makes sure expenditures for contracts and grants are monitored and complete required tracking forms and other reports associated with the grants.
  • Collaborates with and trains program staff responsible for project oversight.
  • Collaborates with other agency departments with responsibility for special education grants and contracts.
  • Attends meetings and responds to inquiries from project staff.
  • Aids department management with budget development and oversight and other special education fiscal matters.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree, or, a Bachelor's degree plus two years of relevant professional experience with federal or state grants or contracts.
  • (COPY OF TRANSCRIPTS REQUIRED AT TIME OF APPLICATION)
  • Two years of experience (in addition to education requirements) within the last five years working with budgets, grants, or contracts at the local, state, or university level.
  • Skilled in aspects of fiscal or grant management.
  • Ability to coordinate the completion of projects and work effectively with diverse teams.
