Y.A.L.E. School West is located at 11 Connecticut Avenue, Cherry Hill, NJ. We are seeking dedicated educators who can make a significant impact on the lives of children with disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide learning experiences in English and supervise assigned students in a safe, supportive, and positive classroom climate.
• Develop students' skills, attitudes, and knowledge to meet and exceed the New Jersey Department of Education's New Jersey Student Learning Standards.
• Work collaboratively with other members of the school staff and with parents to achieve academic excellence.
• Prepare and deliver quality instruction, address the needs of diverse learners through differentiation, and maintain a positive classroom environment.
• Strive to meet the highly effective criteria for lesson planning, data-driven instruction, and classroom leadership.

Requirements

• Hold a New Jersey Instructional Elementary K-6 Certificate (Standard, CE or CEAS Certification) with the intention of becoming certified in NJ Special Education (TOSD).
• Or hold a Teacher of Handicapped certification.
• Show a comprehensive knowledge of elementary curriculum, development, and program evaluation, and demonstrate how the content can be organized into lessons for elementary students.
• Demonstrate excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills, and the ability to motivate and instruct students.
• Show knowledge and understanding of effective instructional strategies, classroom management, learning assessment, and diagnosis, and research related to learning.
• Show enthusiasm and interpersonal skills to relate well with students, staff, administration, parents, and the community.
• Showcase expertise and experience in using 21st Century based/Web 2.0 technology tools and protocols.

Job Description

The Special Education Elementary Teacher at Y.A.L.E. School assumes the professional responsibility for providing learning experiences in English and supervising assigned students in a safe, supportive, and positive classroom climate that develops in each student the skills, attitudes, and knowledge to meet and exceed the New Jersey Department of Education's New Jersey Student Learning Standards, following the approved curricula and directives of the school.
