Salary: $45,518.26 - $85,857.57 (SY26/27) + stipend

Responsibilities

• Adhere to the ethics and values of the social work profession, using the code of ethics to guide decision-making
• Demonstrate core values of service, social justice, dignity and worth of the person, importance of human relationships, integrity, and competence
• Comply with all local, state, and federal mandates related to informed consent, privacy, confidentiality, access to records, and access to education and special education
• Conduct assessments of individuals, families, and systems/organizations to improve student social, emotional, behavioral, and academic outcomes
• Use data and assessment to guide service delivery and evaluate practice to improve and expand services
• Apply evidence-informed practices in interventions to enhance positive educational experiences
• Maintain accurate data and records relevant to planning, implementation, billing (if applicable), and evaluation of social work services
• Serve as leaders and consultants to facilitate understanding of factors in home, school, and community that affect students' educational experiences
• Provide training and engage parents, school personnel, and community members in removing barriers to learning
• Provide leadership and collaboration in implementing comprehensive day treatment programs to promote student well-being and positive academic outcomes
• Participate in individual and group supervision, professional development, and professional learning communities to advance skills and practice
• Perform care coordination tasks for each student on caseload (e.g., contact with community providers, parent training, connecting parents with resources, coordinating with DHHS, billing to MaineCare if applicable)
• Direct and lead implementation of behavior support plans, including crisis management and de-escalation procedures
• Work jointly with classroom teachers to provide direction to Behavioral Health Professionals (BHPs), including coaching, modeling, and feedback regarding classroom activities, behavior plans, routines, schedules, and instruction
• Provide required hours of clinical supervision to program BHPs

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Provide BHP clinical supervision if assigned to a specialized program (e.g., self-contained, day treatment)

Requirements

• Master’s degree from a graduate school of social work or counseling program
• LCSW, LMSW-cc, LCPC, or LCPC-c certification/licensure
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from individuals and groups
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with variables in situations with limited standardization
• Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
• Knowledge of behavioral interventions and strategies, capable of sharing this knowledge with stakeholders
