Role Mission

The Special Education Co-Teacher position at IDEA aims to provide highly effective instruction to IDEA students while offering valuable experience in Special Education teaching.

• Compensation: Hourly rate ranging from $17.70 for 0 years of experience to $24.89 per hour.

Qualifications

• Education: At least 48 college hours required, bachelor’s degree preferred.

• Experience: Classroom experience or working with children.

• Licenses or Certifications: Willingness to pursue a Special Education teaching certification.

Skills

• Instruct students and manage student behavior.

• Organize, communicate, and interact effectively with others.

• Adapt to various situations in the school environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the educational and social development of students.

• Implement Individual Education Plans and monitor student progress.

• Support individual students inside and outside the classroom.

• Work with other professionals like speech therapists, social workers, and therapists.

• Support students with emotional or behavioral concerns.

• Assist with daily living tasks in the Life Skills Unit.

• May need to assist with school bus rides for students.
