Role Mission
The Special Education Co-Teacher position at IDEA is designed for candidates seeking valuable experience in Special Education teaching, challenging work, and opportunities for career advancement.

- Compensation: Hourly rate ranging from $16.05 to $23.17, paid over a 12-month period.

Qualifications
- Education: At least 48 college hours required, bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Classroom experience or working with children.
- Licenses/Certifications: Willingness to pursue a Special Education teaching certification.
- Knowledge and Skills: Instructing students, managing student behavior, strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, ability to adapt to various situations, and assistance with daily living tasks.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the educational and social development of students.
- Aid in implementing Individual Education Plans and monitoring student progress.
- Support individual students inside and outside the classroom.
- Work with other professionals like speech therapists, social workers, occupational and physical therapists.
- Assist classroom teachers with maintaining student records.
- Provide support for students with emotional or behavioral concerns.
- Assist with daily living tasks in the Life Skills Unit.
- May need to accompany students on school buses before or after school.
