About the role
The Newton Community School District is seeking a Special Education Strat II:BD Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year at Berg Middle School.
Responsibilities
- Teach students with special needs in accordance with their Individualized Education Program (IEP).
- Collaborate with other educators, parents, and specialists to develop and implement effective instructional strategies.
- Assess student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly.
- Participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations regarding special education.
Requirements
- A current Iowa Teaching License in Special Education.
- A K-12 Instructional Strategist II: BD/LD endorsement.
- Completion of Nonviolent Crisis Prevention (CPI) training.
Qualifications
- Experience working with students with special needs.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of current special education best practices and resources.
