About the role

As a stukgoedsjorder (Special Cargo Engineer) you secure exceptional cargo so it cannot shift — whether it’s cars, crane parts, tractors, or any load that is too high, wide, heavy, or awkward for a standard container. You work mostly on‑site at customer locations across the country or on board ships, occasionally in the workshop. No two days are the same; you improvise on the spot, learn from seasoned harbour hands, and ensure every shipment travels the world safely thanks to your work.

Responsibilities

• Secure cargo with chains, tension straps, and steel wire
• Saw and fit timber blocking to the correct dimensions
• Brace loads tightly between hold walls or inside containers
• Work at customer sites, on vessels, or in the workshop as required
• Improvise solutions when customer requirements change on the spot
• Learn and apply techniques by shadowing experienced colleagues

Requirements

• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Physical stamina for heavy, hands‑on work
• Ability to think on your feet and improvise practical solutions
• Eagerness to learn from experienced team members
• No formal certification required; attitude and work ethic are key

Pay
