As a Special Care Aide (SCA), you'll play a unique and critical role on our team. You'll be the first face many new clients see when they begin services with Elara Caring, helping create a positive experience from day one. Serve as a key connection between clients and the branch team, ensuring clear communication, timely updates, and a seamless care experience.

Responsibilities

  • Support new client admissions and Start of Care visits
  • Provide personal care assistance including bathing, grooming, dressing, and hygiene
  • Prepare meals and assist with daily living activities
  • Perform housekeeping and household support
  • Assist with errands and transportation when appropriate
  • Monitor and report changes in client condition
  • Maintain accurate documentation and visit records
  • Provide coverage for open shifts, call-offs, and urgent staffing needs
  • Travel throughout the assigned service area to support clients
  • Promote Elara Caring's mission and commitment to quality care

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED, where required by state regulations
  • Minimum six (6) months of experience caring for elderly or disabled individuals
  • Home Health Aide, Personal Care Aide, Homemaker, CNA, MA, or similar certification where required
  • Basic technology skills and comfort using mobile devices, apps, and electronic documentation systems
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Compassionate, dependable, and patient-focused approach
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to changing assignments
  • Reliable personal transportation, current registration, and auto insurance
  • Ability to travel throughout the assigned service area
  • Ability to lift at least 25 pounds and perform physical caregiving duties
