About the role

The Neurodiagnostic Institute and Advanced Treatment Center (NDI) is part of the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration (FSSA) on the Community Hospital East campus in Indianapolis. We provide advanced evaluations and treatments for patients with psychiatric illness.

Responsibilities

  • Implement the resident’s treatment plan.
  • Monitor residents during daily routines and report their condition and behavior.
  • Provide therapeutic interventions, counseling, and daily living skills instruction.
  • Assist in managing aggressive behavior and escort residents to various activities and medical needs.
  • Clean and care for residents' living areas and assist with daily living activities.
  • Perform basic first aid and assist with occupational therapy/recreational therapy programs.
  • Perform routine clerical functions and maintain client folders.

Requirements

  • Specialized knowledge of psychiatric nursing care practices and behavior modification.
  • Practical knowledge of teaching techniques and behavior modification procedures.
  • Ability to operate routine medical equipment if needed.
  • Working knowledge of institutional and unit procedures.
  • Ability to respond effectively in emergency situations.
  • Ability to recognize and manage resident behaviors.
  • Ability to counsel and guide residents in social behavior.
  • Ability to write reports and keep accurate records.
  • Ability to perform housekeeping duties and daily living activities.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle in the State of Indiana.
  • Professional rescuer CPR/AED certification or willingness to obtain.

Qualifications

  • A High School Diploma or HSE diploma.
  • At least 1+ years of experience in a similar role.

Pay

The salary for this position traditionally starts at $41,210.00 but may be commensurate with education and work experience. Use our Compensation Calculator to view the total compensation package.

Schedule

Workday attendance at assigned worksites is an essential function of this position.
