Position Overview

The Florida Gaming Control Commission is a criminal justice agency responsible for regulating gaming activities and combating illegal gambling. The Division of Gaming Enforcement is led by an Executive Director and consists of more than 200 staff members.

Position Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepares work schedules and assigns duties.
• Develops, updates, and revises division policies and procedures.
• Supervises, coordinates, and directs the investigations of criminal cases.
• Makes disciplinary or recommends disciplinary actions for staff violations.
• Assists subordinates in performing job duties.
• Solves personnel problems within the organization.
• Prepares reports and maintains division records.
• Inspects facilities, supplies, vehicles, and equipment.
• Reviews and ensures compliance with legal requirements.
• Collaborates with court personnel and other law enforcement agencies.
• Conducts raids and supervises the detention of witnesses and suspects.
• Meets with stakeholders, law enforcement, and community groups.
• Conducts surveillance and interviews witnesses and suspects.
• Pursues mutual aid assignments as required by law.

Minimum Qualifications

• Current FDLE/CJSTC certification as a law enforcement officer.
• At least five (5) years of sworn law enforcement experience with a focus on criminal investigation.
• At least three (3) years of supervisory experience in the criminal justice field.
• A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university (preferred).

Additional Requirements

• Must pass a criminal background check.
• May require a National Security clearance.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of information.
• Attend and complete 40 hours of training courses every four (4) years.
