Responsibilities
- Follow established protocols for inspecting, decontaminating, preparing and packaging, disinfecting or sterilizing instrumentation, and storing medical/surgical supplies and equipment.
- Prepare and distribute surgical case carts according to physician’s preference lists and anticipated needs of the perioperative team.
- Maintain all state and federal clearances for DE, PA, and NJ for periodic rotation to the Malvern Surgery Center, PA and the Deptford Ambulatory Surgery Center, Deptford, NJ as the discretion of Perioperative Leadership.
- Comply with organizational policies, regulatory and accreditation standards, and professional guidelines.
Qualifications
- Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) required
- High School Diploma required
About the Role
Nemours is seeking an SPD Tech to join our Nemours Children's Health team in Wilmington, DE. This is a full-time, nightshift position.
The SPD Technician is responsible for adhering to industry standards and regulations, including those set by the IAHCSMM, AORN, TJC, FDA, CDC, OSHA, and AAMI. They are accountable for adherence to policies and procedures of Nemours Children's Health, Delaware, Nemours Children's Health, Malvern, and Deptford Ambulatory Surgery Center (DASC).
The SPD Technician prepares surgical case carts based on preference cards and supports the operating room central cores. They are also responsible for maintaining all state and federal clearances for periodic rotation to the Malvern Surgery Center, PA and the Deptford Ambulatory Surgery Center, Deptford, NJ as the discretion of Perioperative Leadership.
Schedule 40 hours per week, 11P-730A.
