SPD PRODUCT SPECIALIST I

Summary

The Sterile Processing Department Product Specialist maintains, coordinates, and performs all aspects of the Sterile Processing inventory control, data entry, clerical, and manual tasks involved in the daily ordering, receipt, verification, storage of supplies/par levels/mobile equipment, surgical instruments in the sterile processing department, which supports the operating room (OR), as well as ancillary departments.

Responsibilities

• Works closely with vendors and OR personnel to monitor, build, and facilitate reordering, maintenance, and refurbishment of instruments/trays in need of service and/or repair.
• Updates tray count sheets, implements new instruments, and performs data entry.
• Utilizes the designated instrument tracking system.
• Adheres to and verifies all manufacturing guidelines and recommendations prior to implementation of set instruments/trays/supplies.

Requirements

• Must have a working knowledge of surgical supplies and instruments.
• Understands sterile processing functions and responsibilities.
• Experience in requisitioning, ordering, receiving, and maintaining supplies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a Sterile Processing Certification Program preferred.

Skills

• Strong organizational and attention to detail skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Pay

Salary Range: $19.17 - $29.21 per hour. Actual compensation may vary based on location and a variety of job-related factors, including experience, skills, education, and internal equity among Team Members in similar positions.

Schedule

Full-time position.
