SPD Process Tech (FT, Evenings) Sunday - Thursday TJUH

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, assemble trays, and sterilize surgical instruments for the Operating Room and other departments requiring reprocessing of surgical instrumentation.
• Clean, disassemble, sort, decontaminate, reassemble, package, and sterilize reusable surgical instrumentation following manufacturer’s guidelines and departmental policy and procedure.
• Operate automated washers, cart washers, ultrasonic washers, and sterilizers safely and efficiently according to manufacturers’ instructions and department policy.
• Use the Abacus Instrument Tracking System for assembling surgical trays and peel pouched items.
• Demonstrate effective verbal and non-verbal communication skills when interacting with internal and external customers.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of a certified sterile processing technician training program.
• CRCST certification required; provisional CRCST certifications are not eligible.
• Minimum of 6 months of experience preferred.
