Responsibilities
- Adheres to rules, regulations, and bylaws of the Board of Education.
- Complies promptly with all administrative directives.
- Maintains a strong working knowledge and application of the philosophy, courses of study, techniques, and objectives applicable to the area of specialization and assignment.
- Directs and evaluates the learning experiences of the pupil.
- Maintains order and discipline in the classroom conducive to good instruction.
- Ensures parents are accurately informed of student growth and development.
- Participates in in-service education programs and professional growth activities, including faculty committees and system-wide committee assignments.
- Participates in assignments and activities to promote better school-community relations (parent conferences, activities, etc).
Qualifications
- Proper Connecticut teaching certification required (023 Spanish, 7-12).
- Academic preparation with emphasis on high school education; knowledge of best practices across the curriculum and ability to modify the curriculum to meet the needs of all learners.
- Must be a flexible collaborator with an understanding of children's developmental stages.
Requirements
- Must possess or be eligible for CT certification (023).
