About the role

The Spanish Teacher position brings Spanish language skills, language immersion, cultural and artistic perspectives to students in Grades 1-4. An ideal candidate will be a native speaker of Spanish with a command of English and previous teaching experience with ages 6-14.

Responsibilities

  • Teach Spanish language and culture to Grades 1-4 students
  • Immerse students in Spanish language and cultural experiences
  • Collaborate with other teachers to integrate Spanish into the curriculum
  • Prepare lesson plans and materials for Spanish classes
  • Assess student progress and provide feedback
  • Engage students in artistic and cultural activities related to Spanish-speaking countries

Requirements

  • Native speaker of Spanish
  • Fluency in English
  • Previous teaching experience with ages 6-14
  • Experience with Waldorf education principles
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team
  • Strong organizational and communication skills

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or Spanish
  • Experience teaching Spanish to children
  • Knowledge of Waldorf education principles

Benefits

This position is on-site at WSL’s campus. It involves 6 hours of contact time and preparation hours per week. Compensation for the role is $21/hr. This position is an hourly, non-exempt role.
