Founded in 2001, LEARN is a network of high-performing college preparatory, tuition-free public elementary and middle schools with the mission of providing children with the academic foundation and ambition to earn a college degree. It serves over 4,000 students in grades PK-8 across Chicago, Waukehan, North Chicago, and Washington, D.C.

About the Role

LEARN is seeking a Spanish Teacher who is dedicated to transforming public education. The Spanish Teacher will be responsible for daily operations in their classroom, providing high-quality instruction to all students, and cultivating ongoing relationships with students, families, and the community.

Responsibilities

• Effectively implement instructional programs and strategic interventions that drive results while teaching to the whole child
• Plan and deliver differentiated instruction and ongoing assessments for students with diverse learning needs
• Demonstrate effective classroom management skills that contribute to a positive learning environment
• Participate in professional development opportunities and collaborate with peers to grow professionally
• Understand how to use data to improve instruction and student achievement
• Maintain a professional working relationship with students, families, and colleagues

Qualifications

• Professional Educator’s License (PEL) and a Spanish or Bilingual endorsement or current participant in an Instructor Certification Program
• Bachelor’s degree
• Bilingual
• Demonstrated record of success and commitment to maintaining high expectations for students

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years of teaching experience
• Demonstrated track record of delivering gains in student academic achievement
