About the role

Part-time W-2 employee position with approximately 24 hours of availability per week. Potential to transition to full-time after 6 months of outstanding performance. Employment is at-will.

Pay

  • $45–48 per completed 50-minute client session
  • $25 per hour for administrative tasks (meetings, care coordination)

Estimated weekly earnings: ~$975 (20 sessions × $48 + 3 admin hours × $25). Actual earnings vary based on completed sessions. Late cancellations and no-shows count toward utilization.

Schedule

  • Consistent weekly schedule with shifts up to 8 hours per day (including a required unpaid 1-hour meal break for shifts longer than 5 hours)
  • Evening hours preferred; weekend availability optional
  • Typical day: 6 client sessions in a 7- to 8-hour window (up to 7 sessions in an 8-hour day)
  • Up to 23 client sessions scheduled per week (target: 19–20 completed sessions)
  • Up to 3 compensated administrative hours per week
  • 1 required team meeting: Mondays at 1 PM PST / 4 PM EST

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 virtual nutrition counseling to clients with diabetes, prediabetes, PCOS, and metabolic conditions
  • Support behavior change through motivational interviewing techniques
  • Conduct telehealth visits (phone/video/chat) for a diverse clientele (70% of clients identify as BIPOC)
  • Complete assessments, follow-up notes, and documentation on time
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to streamline patient care
  • Attend weekly supervision meetings and team huddles
  • Handle billing and scheduling tasks, ensuring accuracy in client records

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of experience in outpatient counseling (diabetes MNT preferred)
  • Familiarity or willingness to learn Health at Every Size (HAES) and Intuitive Eating approaches
  • Strong commitment to social justice and supporting marginalized clients
  • Adaptable, organized, and ready to learn new systems and methods
  • Active RD Registration by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
  • CDCES credential (a plus)
