About the Role

We are looking for a Linguistic Lead Tester to join a long-term project in Cupertino, CA. As a Linguistic Lead Tester, you’ll help bring high-quality Spanish (Spain) content to life, ensuring it feels natural, accurate, and polished for end users. Your main focus will be reviewing and refining localized content, checking grammar, spelling, punctuation, consistency, formatting, and cultural or contextual accuracy. You’ll execute test cases, identify localization bugs, and report issues through internal bug-tracking systems, verifying fixes once implemented. You may also translate content from English into Spanish (Spain) and explore user interfaces to identify localization or functional issues. This role is ideal for someone with native-level Spanish (Spain) fluency, strong attention to detail, and an interest in quality assurance for digital products. The role is stable and long-term with no end date.

Responsibilities

  • Write and report relevant bugs and errors using best practices through the internal database system.
  • Understand and prioritize tasks and issues quickly and efficiently.
  • Perform QA on various products by accurately following testing instructions and test cases.
  • Discover and report defects (bugs) using client-specific bug-tracking tools.
  • Evaluate translations in the context of software, mobile apps, and documentation.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for linguistic issues in Spanish; research and resolve linguistic questions.
  • Adhere to project-specific quality standards, trademarks, style guides, and client-preferred checklists and glossaries.
  • Troubleshoot basic problems; communicate effectively and escalate testing issues.
  • Complete assigned tasks in a quality and timely manner.

Requirements

  • Remote with occasional attendance at the office in Cupertino, CA.
  • W-2 employment (eligible for benefits based on hours worked).
  • Valid visa permitting work in the USA.
  • Native-level Spanish (Spain) fluency and cultural awareness.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized with attention to detail and a commitment to quality.

Ideal backgrounds include Marketing, Journalism, Copy Editing, Proofreading, Writing, Translation, and/or Localization.

Schedule

Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM (with a 1-hour lunch break, 35 hours per week).

Pay

Hourly rate: $27. Additional pay when working onsite.
