Position Details
This is a part-time/25 hours per week position at St George Regional Hospital in St. George, Utah. The schedule is Monday-Friday, 1PM - 6PM.

- Interpret medical and general information accurately and completely.
- Render unbiased interpretation to ensure accurate exchange of information.

- Payscale: $22.98 - $35.00 per hour, based on experience.

Required Qualifications
- Successful completion of a pre-hire skills assessment.
- Professional Proficiency in both source and target languages, including healthcare terminology.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Demonstrated interpersonal communication skills.
- Certificate of completion from a 40-hour Professional Medical Interpreter course.
- Two years of experience as a professional interpreter.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Interpretation or Translation, Languages, or Communications.
- National Certification as a Healthcare or Medical Interpreter from CCHI or NBCMI.
- Completion of a college-level medical terminology course.
- Knowledge of EPIC.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in healthcare settings.
- Completion of a 40-hour Professional Medical Interpreter course.
- Interpreting certification in a different field.
- College degree in translation or working language.
- State Certified Medical Language Interpreter License by DOPL.
Physical Requirements
- Ongoing need to see and read information, labels, documents, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and assess customer needs.
- Frequent interactions with providers, colleagues, customers, patients/clients, and visitors requiring verbal communication, hearing, and understanding information quickly and accurately.
- Manual dexterity for manipulating complex and delicate supplies and equipment with precision and accuracy.
- Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing, and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles.
