About the role

Hanna Interpreting Services LLC seeks bilingual and multilingual individuals to serve as freelance interpreters in a 1099 Independent Contractor role. As an interpreter, you contribute positively to society by facilitating language access for everyone, regardless of their proficiency with English.

Responsibilities

• Make a positive contribution to society by bridging communication gaps.
• Operate as your own boss, setting your availability and accepting appointments based on your schedule.
• Work flexible hours from Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm.
• Interpret in various settings such as medical, legal, and educational contexts.
• Communicate effectively and adapt to different work environments.

Requirements

• Fluency in English and target language with a comprehensive understanding of idiomatic speech and cultural patterns.
• Previous interpreting experience, preferably in medical, legal, or educational settings.
• Demonstrated professionalism, punctuality, and adaptability in the workplace.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in different settings and adapt to various work environments.
• Must be located in and authorized to work in the US (no visa sponsorship).

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; or certification in interpreting or related fields.

Pay

Interpreters start at $30 per hour, depending on the availability, experience, and demand of the language.

Schedule

Appointments are available Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm. Appointments are not guaranteed and are offered based on need.
