Spaceport Designer, Interior Design
Responsibilities
- Captures project requirements from stakeholders and end users
- Evaluates project feasibility and performs spatial planning
- Prepares design development documents, presentations, renders, and material pallets
- Produces drawings, elevations, sections, specifications, and schedules
- Compiles database of existing finishes and FF&E specifications
- Manages procurement and oversees installation of design elements
- Partners with cross-departmental teams to define requirements and derive design details
- Resolves design and construction conflicts in the field
- Manages project control tasks including scheduling, budgeting, and cost control
- Takes on new projects as needed
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree
- 2+ years of experience creating design documents including plans, elevations, specifications, and schedules
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree or master's degree in architecture, interior design, or related design discipline
- Experience in designing spaces that are modern, minimalist, and/or futuristic
- Experience in designing physical environments or branding for commercial and hospitality spaces
- Experience in selection of finishes, furniture, fixtures, equipment, and artwork for industrial and commercial projects
- Experience designing custom art pieces, including murals, sculptures or other exhibitions
- Proficiency in Revit, Sketchup, Revu Bluebeam, and/or AutoCAD software
- Proficiency in rendering software (Photoshop, Lumion, D5, Enscape, or similar)
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Based in Starbase, TX (Brownsville/South Padre Island Area)
- Available to work extended hours and weekends as needed
- Flexible to adjust for abrupt changes in strategic direction
ITAR REQUIREMENTS
To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
