Space Technology Subject Matter Expert

About the role

As a Space Technology Subject Matter Expert with MTSI, you will be a lead advisor to DoD program managers and technical directors for the evaluation and transition of advanced space systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to a Department of Defense customer for the Space Security and Defense Program.
• Provide advice, technical guidance, and expertise to program staff in the following areas:
  • Space-based systems
  • Multi-domain systems
  • Classified technology transition
• Initiate, supervise, and/or develop requirements from a project's inception to conclusion for complex to extremely complex programs.
• Provide strategic advice, technical guidance, and expertise to program and project staff.
• Provide detailed analysis, evaluation, and recommendations for improvements, optimization development, and/or maintenance efforts for client-specific or mission critical challenges/issues.

Requirements

• 15 years of relevant DoD/IC or relevant industry work experience with no less than five (5) years' experience in a SAP and/or SCI environment.
• Experience must include space technology, space architectures, air-space integration, and space control systems.
• Must be a self-starter, able to take initiative, work independently, and recognize management issues that need to be elevated.
• Excellent oral, written, and reporting communication skills.
• Ability to work in a flexible, fast-paced, and highly dynamic environment.
• Ability to multi-task and maintain deadline punctuality during pressurized situations.

Qualifications

• Masters Degree in a science, engineering, or technical field.
• PhD degree in a science, engineering, or technical field (desired).

Skills

• Top Secret, SCI Eligible; SAP experience within last 5 years or SCI in lieu of.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $180,000/year to $220,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on established government contract ranges, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, and other factors.
