About the role

The California Department of Motor Vehicles is seeking an Associate Space Planner to design and optimize workspaces that support thousands of DMV employees throughout California.

Responsibilities

• Design office layouts and modular furniture systems (AutoCAD experience preferred)
• Cook up office renovations and workspace reconfigurations
• Manage projects involving space planning, budgeting, and workplace design
• Conduct site visits and collaborate with stakeholders across California
• Help create safe, efficient, and functional work environments

Requirements

• Experience with AutoCAD
• Knowledge of office planning, building codes, and facilities design
• Strong project management and communication skills
• The ability to interpret architectural drawings and develop space plans
• A collaborative, customer-focused approach to solving workplace challenges
