Core Responsibilities
- Lead engagement and integration of satellite system users into multiple complex space and ground communication systems
- Evaluate space-ground system requirements, interfaces, and performance, including ground communications links and antenna capabilities
- Assess system readiness for launch, test, and operational deployment
- Provide technical analysis and recommendations for space-ground and on-orbit anomalies
- Lead and facilitate ground operations assessments, status reviews, and configuration management boards
Additional Responsibilities
- Lead technical transition of a global ground communications system (7–10 sites) to an Operations organization
- Define and evaluate Key Performance Parameters (KPPs) and operational metrics to assess system performance and transition readiness
- Provide technical guidance across Acquisition, Operations, and Communications organizations to address transition blockers and align Concept of Operations (ConOps)
- Cook up multi-site integration activities, configuration alignment, and readiness events
- Manage transition schedule, technical dependencies, and risk items across engineering and test teams
Required Skills / Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, or related technical field
- 8–10 years of relevant systems engineering experience, preferably supporting space or ground communications systems
- Extensive experience in satellite ground systems and space-to-ground communications
- Strong background in systems engineering, requirements, and interface analysis
- Experience with anomaly investigation and operational troubleshooting
- Familiarity with launch readiness, test, and transition to operations processes
- Ability to work across multiple organizations and stakeholders in a SETA environment
