About the role
We are seeking an enthusiastic Sow Farm Assistant Supervisor to join our team at Seaboard Foods. This position involves attending to and caring for swine, assisting in supervising employees, and adhering to all company standards and protocols.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all standard operating procedures are being followed and facilities are in good working condition.
- Maintain high herd health and adhere to all biosecurity set forth by the company and proper feeding and care of animals while also maintaining accurate records and reports of animals, employees, and supplies on the farm.
- Train employees on day-to-day processes and procedures to develop a competent workforce by utilizing hands-on training methods.
- Supervise and schedule groups of employees and act as manager when the supervisor is not present.
- Aid in ensuring that all weekly and daily reports are turned in timely and accurately.
- Adhere to all safety procedures.
- Follow the assigned medication and vaccination protocols for the farm.
- Maintain the alarm system and all emergency systems and answer alarm calls properly.
Qualifications
- Must be proficient in English language, reading and writing.
- Preferred Associate degree (A.A) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or 6 months to 1 year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

The employee is frequently exposed to waste material, feed and hog dust. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, occasionally lift up to 100 pounds and sometimes push/and or move up to 300 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
