About the role

This position is an exciting opportunity for an energetic, entrepreneurial culinary professional to assist in the successful operation of the Culinary Department for a facility. You will support the Executive Chef in supervision, menu development, food preparation, and cost management.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Executive Chef with managing cost controls and expenditures for the account
• Help plan and create menus
• Produce and execute catering events
• Roll out new culinary programs in conjunction with Company marketing and culinary team
• Supervise hourly associates in food preparation, cooking, and presentation

Requirements

• A.S. degree or equivalent experience
• Progressive culinary or kitchen management experience
• Catering experience preferred
• High-volume, complex foodservice operations experience highly desirable
• Institutional and batch cooking experience helpful
• Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends, with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation
• Proficient with computers, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook, email, and internet
• Willingness to participate in client satisfaction programs and activities
• ServSafe certification highly desirable
