About the role
Aegis Living Aptos is seeking a Sous Chef to prepare meals for their senior residents.
Responsibilities
- Preparing meals
- Serves as a discipline environment and provides supervision in the absence of the Culinary Services Director
- Manages food inventory appropriately and sets up work areas/stations with all necessary supplies in advance of meal service
- Performs portion control and minimizes waste to keep cost within forecasted ranges for recipes
- Understands and maintains all necessary documentation, including but not limited to, time/temperature logs, menus, invoices, etc.
- Helps serve residents
- Trains and mentors new employees
- Opportunity for growth to Culinary Services Director
Qualifications
- 3 years of experience as a Cook or Line/ Prep Cook
- PREFERRED: Experience as a Sous Chef
- PREFERRED: Experience managing food inventory
- MUST BE: 18+ years of age
- Food preparation and production experience required
- MUST BE WILLING TO TAKE 2-STEP TB TEST
