SOUS CHEF (FULL TIME)

About the role

We are hiring immediately for a full-time SOUS CHEF position at Carroll College, located at 101 North East Avenue, Waukesha, WI 53186.

Prior kitchen supervisory experience is preferred; at least 3 years of cooking experience is required. The schedule is full-time with varying days and hours, including PM shifts. More details will be provided upon interview.

Responsibilities

• Cooks and prepares food following approved recipes and production standards.
• Ensures all deadlines are met based on production orders.
• Supervises hourly food service associates, including interviewing, scheduling, payroll, training, counseling, participating in reviews, and recommending disciplinary action as needed.
• Stores food in designated areas following all corporate, state, and federal food safety and sanitation procedures.
• Ensures proper food handling, presentation, portion control, and maintenance of appropriate serving temperatures.
• Maintains sanitation of equipment, supplies, and utensils, and keeps display equipment clean and free of debris during meal service.
• Interacts with customers to resolve complaints in a friendly, service-oriented manner and relays relevant information directly to supervisor.
• Demonstrates complete understanding of daily menu items and accurately explains them to associates and customers.
• Keeps up with peak production and service hours, monitors inventory and deliveries of product and supplies, and tracks product production, consumption, and waste.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

At least 3 years of cooking experience is required, and prior kitchen supervisory experience is preferred.

Skills

Ability to cook and prepare food, supervise hourly food service associates, and maintain sanitation and safety standards.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $25.00 per hour to $27.00 per hour.
