SOUS CHEF (FULL TIME AND PART TIME)

About the role

Canteen is hiring for a full-time and part-time SOUS CHEF position at our CK STL Commissary located at 5433 Eagle Industrial Court, Hazelwood, MO 63042. Online applications are accepted only. The schedule is flexible, typically Monday through Friday from 4:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with potential weekend shifts until 12 PM as needed. Requirements include previous ServSafe certification, valid driver's license, willingness to drive a delivery van, and previous sous chef experience.

Responsibilities

• Cooks and prepares food according to approved recipes and production standards.
• Ensures all deadlines are met based on production orders.
• Supervises hourly food service associates, including interviewing, scheduling, payroll, training, counseling, reviewing performance, and recommending disciplinary actions.
• Stores food in designated areas following all corporate, state, and federal food safety and sanitation procedures.
• Maintains sanitation of equipment, supplies, and utensils. Cleans workstation thoroughly before leaving area.
• Keeps display equipment clean and free of debris during meal service to comply with all sanitation, safety, production, and merchandising requirements.
• Interacts with customers to resolve complaints in a friendly, service-oriented manner. Relays relevant information directly to supervisor.
• Demonstrates complete understanding of daily menu items and accurately explains them to associates and customers.
• Monitors inventory and deliveries of product and supplies. Tracks product production, consumption, and waste. Informs supervisor when supplies or product are low.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous ServSafe certification.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Willingness to drive a delivery van if needed.
• Previous sous chef experience required.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $23.00 per hour to $25.00 per hour. Internal Employee Referral Bonus is available.

• Schedule: Full time and part time, Monday through Friday, as business needs, usually between 4:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Available Weekends until 12 pm if needed.
