About the role

The Sous Chef assists in all daily BOH operations for Restaurant DANIEL, a Michelin Star establishment managed by The Dinex Group, a management company of Chef Daniel Boulud.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the production of food at all stations
  • Assist the cooks when needed
  • Support the Executive Chef in all aspects of cost control
  • Order and inspect for quality all food and beverage items necessary for the production of the finished menu items
  • Oversee food production for all stations
  • Track food costs as requested
  • Ensure that employees keep waste to a minimum
  • Recognize the importance of employee morale and help to maintain it

Requirements

  • Previous supervisory role
  • Culinary training degree preferred

Qualifications

  • Strong English, French and Spanish communications skills (a plus)

  • Food quality and restaurant standards maintenance
