About the role
The Sous Chef assists in all daily BOH operations for Restaurant DANIEL, a Michelin Star establishment managed by The Dinex Group, a management company of Chef Daniel Boulud.
Responsibilities
- Supervise the production of food at all stations
- Assist the cooks when needed
- Support the Executive Chef in all aspects of cost control
- Order and inspect for quality all food and beverage items necessary for the production of the finished menu items
- Oversee food production for all stations
- Track food costs as requested
- Ensure that employees keep waste to a minimum
- Recognize the importance of employee morale and help to maintain it
Requirements
- Previous supervisory role
- Culinary training degree preferred
Qualifications
- Strong English, French and Spanish communications skills (a plus)
