About the role

The role of Sous Chef is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in culinary arts and experience in a high-volume restaurant setting.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head Chef in managing the kitchen staff and ensuring all food preparation adheres to the highest standards of quality and safety.
  • Prepare and oversee the production of a variety of dishes, ensuring they meet the menu specifications and customer expectations.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to develop new recipes and improve existing ones.
  • Manage inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies to maintain optimal stock.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and contribute to maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Culinary Arts or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a professional kitchen setting.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize responsibilities effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Valid Food Handlers Certification.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in using kitchen equipment and tools.
  • Experience with food costing and budgeting.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Pay
