About the role
The role of Sous Chef is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen. Reporting directly to the Executive Chef, the Sous Chef oversees daily operations, assists in menu development, and ensures food quality and presentation.
Responsibilities
- Oversee kitchen operations and ensure adherence to food safety standards.
- Assist in menu planning and preparation, collaborating with the Executive Chef.
- Train and mentor kitchen staff, providing guidance and feedback.
- Ensure timely and efficient service to guests.
- Manage inventory levels and maintain cost control.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Culinary Arts or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Sous Chef or equivalent.
- Proven ability to manage a team and lead kitchen operations.
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and food preparation methods.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Qualifications
- Valid Food Handler’s Permit.
- Experience with kitchen equipment and facilities.
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings.
