About the role
At Pendry Chicago, we are looking for a passionate and dedicated Sous Chef to join our team. This role involves leading the kitchen team, managing costs, and delivering exceptional service.
Responsibilities
- Implements cost control measures and revenue enhancement strategies to maximize profitability while maintaining service quality
- Prepares and orders all items for all menus, creates order sheets and inventory systems to ensure proper stock levels
- Executes all productions and plating in a timely manner
- Maintains the overall food and labor cost through recipe costing and scheduling standards
- Oversees menu development with head Chef, culinary innovation, and food presentation, ensuring offerings are creative, on-trend, and aligned with guest preferences
- Ensures the department abides by all safety and sanitation policies
- Delivers on guests' expectations and has the desire to create WOW moments
- Performs additional duties as assigned that may be outside the scope of duties, based on business needs
Requirements
- A minimum of one year of culinary supervisory or management experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of implementing new food concepts and menus
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
- Luxury hotel experience, a plus

Pay
The pay scale for Sous Chef is $63,000 - $70,000 annually. The pay scale is the base salary range, exclusive of incentive pay such as commissions, piece rates, gratuities, and the like, that Pendry reasonably expects to pay for the position.
