About the role
Mon Ami Gabi Chicago is hiring a Sous Chef. Located inside the historic Beldon-Stratford in Chicago's Lincoln Park, Mon Ami Gabi is a classic French bistro featuring dishes like Onion Soup Au Gratin, Steak Frites, and Profiteroles.
Responsibilities
- Lettuce Entertain You Restaurants is seeking a Sous Chef with 2 years of sous chef experience.

- Participate in BOH shifts ensuring efficient operations, food prep, inventory management, and supervising kitchen and dish teams.
- Lead BOH pre-shift meetings, perform line, temp, and cooler checks, and conduct food tastings.
- Collaborate with GM and managers to interview, onboard, train, and develop BOH employees.
- Communicate food production and timing issues between FOH and BOH, and assist with managing food costs.
- Manage kitchen staff and ensure quality of all menu items.
- Handle guest, vendor, and employee interactions with tact and courtesy.
- Work various shifts including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and overnight travel.
Requirements
- 2-3 years of sous chef experience in a full-service restaurant.
- Experience with French cuisine is a plus.
