Role Responsibilities
- Support the Head Chef in managing day-to-day kitchen operations and take charge in their absence.
- Supervise and coordinate the kitchen team during service to maintain quality, timing, and consistency.
- Aid with menu planning, recipe testing, and seasonal updates.
- Train and mentor junior chefs, providing guidance and constructive feedback.
- Oversee stock control, ordering, and proper storage procedures.
- Assist with rostering and workflow planning to ensure efficient service.
- Maintain food safety compliance and cleanliness across all sections.
Qualifications
- Experience in a commercial kitchen (leadership experience highly regarded for Sous and Junior Sous roles).
- Confidence working across different sections and maintaining high standards.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- An understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Relevant cookery qualifications (desirable).
