About the Role

This is a senior, client-facing strategic sourcing position with a strong focus on business process outsourcing (BPO) in the banking and financial-services industry. The Expert Sourcer will act as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders, leading complex outsourcing initiatives in regulated environments and delivering measurable commercial, operational-resilience, and third-party risk outcomes.

The role focuses primarily on BPO and offshoring categories used in banking operating models, including people-based, service-driven processes delivered by third-party providers and subject to bank outsourcing, data, and operational-resilience requirements. Typical BPO categories include:

• Finance & Accounting (F&A) outsourcing (e.g., AP/AR, reconciliations, reporting support)
• HR / HRO services
• Contact centres, customer service, complaints handling, and client operations
• Back-office and middle-office services
• AML / financial-crime operations support

The Expert Sourcer will be part of a team of Strategic Sourcers based in the US, CH, and the UK, while providing global category expertise across multiple client accounts and regions.

Responsibilities

• Act as a strategic sourcing partner to senior client stakeholders in regulated financial-services environments
• Lead end-to-end BPO sourcing initiatives, including:
  • Category and sourcing strategy development
  • Market analysis and supplier landscape assessment
  • RFI / RFP design and execution
  • Commercial structuring and negotiations
  • Contract drafting based on standard terms and conditions, including outsourcing-specific clauses
• Manage and deliver complex sourcing projects worth up to $300m+, including occasional large-scale global deals
• Lead cross-functional deal teams and coordinate with senior stakeholders and risk, compliance, and legal functions
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key BPO suppliers and stay abreast of market trends
• Pursue KPI and sourcing objectives
• Mentor and coach experienced sourcing professionals and support colleagues on complex BPO deals when required

Requirements

Core Requirements (BPO-Focused)

• Proven hands-on experience sourcing business process outsourcing (BPO) services, with the ability to personally lead deals end-to-end
• Demonstrated capability to run large, complex, multi-country BPO sourcing initiatives, including all stages of the tender and negotiation process
• Strong commercial and contractual expertise within BPO categories
• Experience working in regulated environments (financial services strongly preferred)
• Confidence and gravitas to engage senior stakeholders and challenge constructively where required

Qualifications & Skills

• Educated to university level or equivalent; MCIPS desirable but not essential
• Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder-management skills
• Ability to structure complex deals and develop clear sourcing strategies
• Strong discipline in documentation, traceability, and controls (able to operate in audit-ready environments)
• Highly organised, results-driven, and comfortable managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines
• Experience with market-leading sourcing tools and systems
• Professional, collaborative team player with a flexible and proactive mindset
• Experience in EMEA / DACH environments strongly preferred

What This Role Is Not

• A purely IT outsourcing or application-development sourcing role
• An operational procurement or P2P position
• A vendor-management or service-delivery role
• A supply-chain or logistics procurement role

Pay

The salary range for New York City and Chicago metro area is $120,000 to $170,000, plus individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, qualifications, skills, location, and applicable employment laws.
