Sourcing Manager- North America

Position can work out of either the Atlanta Scanfil location or the Rochester Hills, MI ADCO location.

About the role

Strategic category management with the purpose of developing and maintaining a professional and efficient supplier base with a focus on total cost in the North American region.

Requirements

• Degree level or equivalent education, relevant background/working experience
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken
• Supply Chain knowledge, especially in mechanics and basics in electronics
• Supplier Relationship Management
• Agreements knowledge, including creation and legal aspects
• Financial knowledge in Sourcing (TCO understanding)
• Negotiation skills
• Sourcing & purchasing advanced practices (should costing, eProcurement, eSourcing)
• Category-specific knowledge (suppliers, capabilities, technologies, trends)
• Suppliers' manufacturing technologies knowledge

Responsibilities

• Together with the team members, manage the sourcing and cost development of the North American component portfolio with a focus on total cost
• Perform and support Group RFQs
• Enhance supplier base agreement coverage with terms and conditions
• Drive performance to meet Sourcing Category targets by monitoring and reporting critical supplier KPIs and take appropriate actions to reward or penalize as needed
• Establish the US Sourcing Area strategy – aligned with the global strategy – and lead the implementation for each sourcing category
• Responsible for the region’s supply base capability and supplier roadmap, including new supplier introduction, development, and phase-out
• Support tactical sourcing with escalations for delivery, price, and quality
• Act as accountable team representative between sites and the Category team
• Monitor market and technology trends and act upon them if required
• Initiate and lead Group RFQs, decide about awarding business to suppliers, and transfer business between suppliers
• Lead towards KPI targets and the strategic work
• Decide about phasing out suppliers and moving suppliers between different levels in the pyramid (awarding preferred status requires approval from the Sourcing Director)
