About the Role
Join us as a Sourcing Director and lead, manage, and drive accountability for our sourcing team. Your responsibilities include:
- Leading, coaching, and developing a high-performing sourcing team through clear expectations, ongoing feedback, and professional development.
- Managing team priorities, resources, and performance to achieve departmental and organizational objectives.
- Driving accountability across the sourcing function by setting measurable goals, monitoring progress, and ensuring ownership of results.
- Fostering a culture of collaboration, integrity, and continuous improvement within the sourcing organization.
Supplier Identification & Selection
Identify, evaluate, and qualify new suppliers to support business objectives, cost targets, and innovation goals. This includes:
- Conducting comprehensive market analysis to assess supplier capabilities, competitiveness, and risk.
- Building and maintaining a diverse and reliable supplier network aligned with company sourcing strategies.
Supplier Relationship Management (SRM)
Develop and sustain strategic supplier partnerships focused on continuous improvement, innovation, and performance. This involves:
- Leading supplier performance reviews based on key metrics such as quality, cost, delivery, and service.
- Collaborating cross-functionally to resolve supplier issues and ensure alignment with business priorities.
Supplier Contract Management & Price Negotiation
Oversee supplier contract creation, negotiation, and execution to ensure favorable commercial terms and compliance with legal standards. This includes:
- Leading complex price negotiations that drive cost efficiencies while maintaining supplier quality and reliability.
- Partnering with Legal, Finance, and Compliance teams to mitigate contractual and operational risks.
Purchase Requisition Administration
Manage the purchase requisition and approval process to ensure timely, accurate, and policy-compliant procurement activity. This involves:
- Implementing and monitoring procurement systems, controls, and workflows to improve operational efficiency.
- Ensuring all purchasing aligns with financial controls and audit requirements.
Supplier Knowledge of Portfolio Categories
Maintain deep understanding of assigned portfolio categories, including market trends, pricing dynamics, and supplier capabilities. This includes:
- Providing category expertise to support business planning, innovation, and product development efforts.
- Developing and executing category strategies that balance cost, quality, and supply assurance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum 7 years of sourcing experience preferred.
- Experience working with Asia based factories is a necessity (China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Viet Nam, Thailand). Knowledge of sourcing in Europe, Turkey, Mexico, Indonesia, and India is beneficial.
- Working knowledge of U.S. and Canadian retailer’s housewares categories.
- Current or previous sourcing and product development in electric and non-electric housewares- kitchen products.
- Demonstrated collaboration with sales, marketing, and/or merchandising personnel.
- Advanced skillset with all Microsoft programs (Excel, Powerpoint, Word) and ERP’s.
- Mandarin speaking skills are a plus.
